  We had a guy working on a rock-mining job commit suicide by diving in front of a "ute" (not sure on the spelling) which is some monsterous truck used for hauling tons (literally) of mined rock. The police photos were rather impressive, as the fellows internal organs sprayed out of his decapitated neck like a tube of tooth paste being rolled empty. Sorry for the graphic descrition... but this should answer the posted question... What Could Crush You Dead???

  The fear of "spontaneous sex"

  when i was young and single and a witness.

  i remember often the fear older people had of putting young people together alone.

  not just for dating, but even leaving them in a car while an older couple went to a return visit.

  JWs are ovrboard with the prventing sex thing. I make a point to not spend time with "strangers" of the opposite sex alone. For example, I am a traveling loan closer, and often end up at the home of a single woman. I usually ask that they have a "witness" available.... truth is this is just to protect me form accusations.
  Nonetheless, I do not assume that my wife is suddenly having sex just because she is in a room with a man. Especially since she is a doctor and is feeling guys up all the time!
  More reasons you don't see many physicians that are JW's.... too much touching!

  some of the kids my age in my hall are just an insult to my generation.

  at the service meeting last week i was talking with one and we were near the front of the hall and there were a bunch of little kids running and jumping around the stage.

  as many of you know, i have a myspace.com account.. apparently, while i was out last night, someone called my mother and informed her of my activities on myspace.

  my mother called and asked me for my login info, and was shocked to see me, and around 40 witnesses in my area having active profiles.

  contents of these profile ranged from a few pictures to downright self-incrimination.

  Even if this is the begining of the end for you as a JW, that give you an opportunity to work in the open! No more secrets. But, even better if you can continue to work the system from the inside.
  When they give you trouble for the computer, just remember all the checks being sent to WT from all over the world that YOU designed. You are a hero among men!

  this morning at brooklyn bethel, patterson and wt farms the governing body offered a prayer in behalf of all of the citizens in the la area.

  that jehovah provide the needed protection for all citizens who will be impacted.. .

  the gb prayed that those who would be risking their lives, such as essential personeel will have the needed strength to help all citizens.. .

  Despite the dictionary definition of pastoral counseling, it is whatever the "pastor" decides it should be. In my home state of Connecticut, pastors, ministers and other clerics are exempted from the licensing requirements of counselors.
  JW elders will claim that their elder book is all the training they need.

  Jah-Jireh retirement homes web site...GONE?

  does any one know where the jah-jireh webs sites, the sites that deal with the jw retirement homes have gone?.

  i've been interested in them for a while, (with my age and that) but they've disappeared from the web!.

  does anyone know why they might have come of, been taken off, disappeared from the net.. the only reference i can find to them is a list of retirement homes with a religious bent.. thanks all!.

  They even have their own chapel, er Kingdom Hall Lite so they can be told how they will never die, just a few feet from the room in which they will eventually die. Well, as strange as this place is, its sure nice to see that someone is taking care of older JWs instead of just chastising them for low field service hours.
